I would like to suggest implementing some kind of resum+¬ system to improve the dynamics of all around recruiting. I see the need for this change for a few reasons:
-The recruitment channel, while designed for just that, usually has around 850-900 members (peak time), 125 of which are actually monitoring the channel, 87 of those 125 are trolling, and two of the remainder are actually looking for a corporation. -Start up corporations have an especially hard time recruiting from the ground up with low member counts, since a lot of players will only prefer to join a corp with a large social base. -Will alleviate spam Conversations at beginner areas to a degree -Will give corporations the chance to ensure a player is just as good a fit for the corp, as the corp is for the player -Give CEOs, Directors, and recruiting personell the chance to take a good look at the potential applicant's capabilities/history/tendencies
This is my idea as to how to actually put this into play:
The resum+¬ page will be included under the 'Recruitment' tab of the 'Corporation' window, and only viewable by members with permissions to accep applications. The actual form, which will be mostly filled out by the applicant, will have spaces for them to fill out somewhat of a bio, as well as what they're looking for in a corp. The rest will be automatically filled in by the game, such as how long this player has been active, employment history/number of corps player has worked for, ships this player is capable of flying, a limited insight into the applicant's trained skills, etc. Understandable that this idea brings a degree of transparency to applicants, but the resum+¬ process would be 100% voluntary. The benefit, however, would be that the applicant's name and information would be readily available to a potential employer, making their odds of finding a corporation that fits much higher. From the employer's end, they could enter search parameters to narrow results among the applicants, such as what type of corp they are looking for, where they are located, time played, etc, or just view all Resum+¬s. As an alternate form of finding a good match, the resum+¬s could automatically be filtered based on the preferences outlined in the corp's recruiting ad, such as the primary mission of the corp, types of players sought, so on and so forth. If an employer decide to hire an applicant, they could choose to extend their offer of employment to the applicant, which would be mailed to them and be available for them to review and accept.
I appreciate your time in viewing my suggestion, and I hope something can be done to this effect. Thank you, RC.

That's actually part of what I proposed, near the end.
" As an alternate form of finding a good match, the resum+¬s could automatically be filtered based on the preferences outlined in the corp's recruiting ad, such as the primary mission of the corp, types of players sought, so on and so forth."

I think the certificate thing is a great idea. I wouldn't intend for this system to completely expose a toon, since piracy and spying is a part of the great sandbox called EVE, but at least some sort of implement to keep 'em honest would be nice. Thanks for the +1s. Dev commented a while ago, hope they're taking it seriously. |
